Why run the Mile?

This is your chance to run on Darwin’s iconic Mitchell Street!

The Mitchell Street Mile aims to attract running enthusiasts, locals and visitors to a unique new sporting event. Runners will enjoy the thrill of having spectators cheer them on as they sprint up and down Mitchell Street in a bid for the title of the fastest Mitchell Miler – all in the heart of Darwin’s bustling CBD.

The course is a certified 1 mile (1.6km) event by Athletics Northern Territory.

In 2017 the runs will again be preceded by a Cycling Criterium using the same course. It’s a great opportunity to see riders tackle the course from 1.30pm.

Event date: Sunday 17 September 2017
Event commences: 1:30pm
Event ends: 6.30pm

Start times are a guide and are subject to change, presentations for each run will be held straight after the run.
